The South African Medical Research Council (SA MRC) in conjunction with MTN and the University of Stellenbosch will be hosting the 1st Southern African Telemedicine Conference which hopes to bring together researchers, professionals, academics, health practitioners, students, health analysts, etc. working in the discipline of telemedicine. The SA MRC is committed to strengthen the local, national and international capacity in telemedicine skills.

HISP vision is to support the development of an excellent and sustainable health information system that enables all health care workers to use their own information to improve the coverage and quality of health services within our communities.

The Observatory aims to collect and to disseminate most valuable information on all relevant issues relating to health telematics, including health telematics, including European standards, regulatory and ethical issues.

The Observatory helps USERS and PROVIDERS working or interested in TELEMATICS applied to HEALTH CARE to find and disseminate information. Has some useful standards and documents

THE dog-eared clinic card may one day be little more than a curious historical artefact if government's ambitious plans to overhaul the way patient records are stored is successful. The National Department of Health funded (Tender NDOH28/2004-2005) the training project on monitoring and evaluation aspects of the Comprehensive HIV and AIDS Plan. This training manual was developed for the National Department of Health. Compilation of this manual was based on the Department of Healths documents - Data Flow and Data Management Protocol, Monitoring and Evaluation Framework, Technical Notes: Indicators and Definitions, National Antiretroviral Treatment Guidelines and the Operational Plan for Comprehensive HIV and AIDS Care, Management and Treatment for South Africa - by a team consisting of members from Health Systems Trust (HST) and the Health Information Systems Programme (HISP).
