Health Global Access Project Coalition

We are an organization of U.S.-based AIDS and human rights activists, people living with HIV/AIDS, public health experts, fair trade advocates and concerned individuals who campaign against policies of neglect and avarice that deny treatment to millions and fuel the spread of HIV.

This internationally recognized treatment newsletter is an excellent resource for persons living with HIV/AIDS who are looking for information on new therapies. AIDS Treatment News has been published twice a month by John S. James since 1986.

Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, UNAIDS, is the main advocate for global action on the epidemic. It leads, strengthens and supports an expanded response aimed at preventing transmission of HIV, providing care and support, reducing the vulnerability of individuals and communities to HIV/AIDS, and alleviating the impact of the epidemic.

Global Health Watch

At the World Health Assembly in May 2003, the Peoples Health Movement, together with GEGA and Medact discussed the need for civil society to produce its own alternative World Health Report. It was felt that the WHO reports were inadequate that there was no report that monitored the performance of global health institutions and, that the dominant neo-liberal discourse in public health policy also needed to be challenged by a more people-centred approach that highlights social justice.

ProCOR

ProCOR is an electronic informational resource for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in developing countries. ProCOR serves as a gateway to a wide range of resources on preventive cardiology and prevention, providing access to information that is relevant to professionals working in low-resource settings. In addition to offering links to other resources, ProCOR includes a catalog of community cardiovascular studies, key documents, global news, and in-depth commentaries.

AIDS Law Project

Every day people living with HIV or AIDS face one problem after another because of discrimination. People struggle to get access to proper medical treatment, school for children and even work. It is difficult to buy a house because it is impossible to get insurance. Our children and families face harsh words from friends or colleagues. A LOT OF THIS DISCRIMINATION IS AGAINST THE LAW The AIDS Law Project (ALP) is at Wits University Centre for Applied Legal Studies. It is an organisation that specialises in helping people with HIV/AIDS to deal with these problems.

Women's Health Project

The Women's Health Project, a non-governmental organisation, is the Gender and Health Centre at the University of the Witwatersrand. WHP promotes gender equality and high quality health services, does research, consultancy, training, advocacy, information dissemination and implements health care system changes.

The Synergy Project

The Synergy Project is a five-year, performance-based contract that provides technical assistance and services to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to design, evaluate, and coordinate HIV/AIDS programs and identify and disseminate lessons learned from these programs. This website offers HIV/AIDS Technical and Programming resources including newsletter, links to HIV/AIDS focussed websites, publications and a calendar of events.

AEGiS - AIDS Education Global Information System

AEGiS began in the mid-1980s and is a web-based reference for HIV/AIDS-related information. The collaborative effort of many organizations and individuals has enabled the creation of this vast database of facts regarding the history, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Through the keyword-searchable knowledgebase, AEGiS offers information via HIV/AIDS specific publications and news sources from around the world. In addition, an array of reference materials are offered.
