AEGiS began in the mid-1980s and is a web-based reference for HIV/AIDS-related information. The collaborative effort of many organizations and individuals has enabled the creation of this vast database of facts regarding the history, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Through the keyword-searchable knowledgebase, AEGiS offers information via HIV/AIDS specific publications and news sources from around the world. In addition, an array of reference materials are offered.

The College of Venereal Disease Prevention was founded in 1999 in response to the ever-growing global epidemic of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. It is a British educational institution, which prides itself as being the only truly global college that provides extensive, simple, non-technical and non-political education as well as effective strategies in the prevention of HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Courses are available at Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Post-Graduate Diploma Levels.

AfroAIDSinfo is an Internet project of the South African Medical Research Council (MRC). The aim of the project is to disseminate important information on HIV/AIDS to researchers, the health profession, the public, infected individuals, educators and policy-makers. Carefully selected editorial and information links are published on the portal in an ongoing effort to educate and update each of these audiences and assist them in the fight against HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.

SAfAIDS is a regional HIV/AIDS information dissemination service based in Zimbabwe. We exist to promote, inform and support appropriate responses to the epidemic in the fields of HIV prevention, care, support, long-term planning and coping with the impact of AIDS.

The Centre for AIDS Development, Research and Evaluation (Cadre) is a South African non-profit organisation working in the area of HIV/AIDS social research, project and programme development. Cadre's main objectives are to facilitate a coherent and systematic Southern African response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic by maximising the use of social research.

CHILD HIV/AIDS SERVICES provides information on organizations and key government contacts working with and for infected / affected children and youth. It is hoped that the directory will enhance the efforts to address the impact of HIV/AIDS on children in South Africa by providing a resource that facilitates collaboration, information sharing and research.
