2nd Wits HIV/AIDS in the Workplace - Research Symposium

Keynote addresses on: prevention, company experiences working with communities, HIV/AIDS and the second economy, and the public sector response to HIV/AIDS.

Over thirty research papers: including risk, impact, stigma, peer educators, womens health, unions, traditional health practitioners, behaviour change, the second economy, and treatment uptake.

Ten roundtable discussions: including discrimination, people living with HIV/AIDS in the workplace, workplace reporting & standards, sexual reproductive health and rights, corporate treatment programs, unions, local government, working with communities, treatment, second economy, and peer educators.

The aims of the two-day symposium are to strengthen the existing network of researchers, and to promote and disseminate high quality applied research on HIV/AIDS in the workplace in an accessible manner among academics, business people and other interested stakeholders with a view to informing and improving workplace knowledge and practice.
