The First South African Gender Based Violence and Health Conference


2002-05-17 to 2002-05-20

Gauteng, South Africa
Organized by the South African Gender Based Violence and Health Initiative (SAGBVHI) SAGBVHI, which was formed in 2000, is a partnership of 15 organizations working on gender based violence and health issues. The conference will attempt to raise awareness about intersection between gender based violence and health and to find creative ways of building a violent free society. The conference aims to bring together international and national researchers, academics, health professionals, government departments and civil society organizations in defining a multi-sectoral response that is informed by health sector.
