2005-02-18 to 2005-02-18Theme: Paediatric access to ARV treatment and developing a human resources plan for the health sector. Venue: Denis Hurley Hall, Diakonia Centre, 20 St Andrews Street, Durban
The JCSMF invites you to its third national meeting. The JCSMF exists to assist with the effective and efficient implementation of the Operational Plan, to ensure comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, management and treatment in South Africa, from a health and human rights perspective. It aims to help redress the inequities between the private and public health sectors and to address issues affecting access to ARV treatment in both the public and private sector across the country. The JCSMF undertakes to assist with the monitoring and assessment of the implementation of the Operational Plan so that optimal patient targets can be reached within reasonable time periods. The JCSMF comprises a wide range of health, human rights and governance organisations and is open to any civil society organisation that has a direct interest in the implementation of the Operational Plan. The themes of the meeting are paediatric access to ARV treatment and the human resources plan, with a particular focus on KwaZulu-Natal. The meeting will bring together paediatricians and other health professionals, government and private sector representatives, and civil society organisations, to assess progress towards access to treatment, nationally and provincially, and to look at how this can be enhanced. Your presence will be greatly appreciated. Please indicate by e mail to lynette@childrenfirst.org.za or by phoning Lynette at Children First on 031 307 3405, if you will be able to attend. Minutes of the previous meeting is available at http://www.hst.org.za/publications/660 Read more at:
