Graduate Programme in Public Health 2010

The Graduate Programme in Public Health aims to produce health professionals who are change agents in the field of public health. Through a careful assessment of your own needs and capacities, an individualised programme of study may be designed and undertaken, with the approval of the Academic Programme Co-ordinator, which will lead either to a general qualification or a qualification majoring in a special area of interest.
Who may apply?
You are eligible to apply if you hold an appropriate 4-year bachelor&rsquos degree, and/or have prior experience that has provided you with a level of competence that is deemed by Senate to be adequate for the purpose of study in the programme. You should be computer literate. Additional screening criteria are applied.
Curriculum for a general or specialist Postgraduate Diploma or Master in Public Health
The curriculum is fully modularised, comprising core, specialist and elective modules.  The Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health consists of 128 coursework credits. The Master of Public Health consists of 192 credits, comprising 96 coursework credits and 96 research credits. The qualifications are only offered part-time, on a block release system, with each module requiring an initial 2-3 days face-to-face contact at the beginning of the semester, and the subsequent 2-3 days offered as separate days in subsequent months of the semester. Specialisation fields include: Epidemiology and Biostatistics Hospital Management Medicines Management Occupational and Environmental Health and Reproductive, Adolescent and Child Health.
