Weighing coverage (annualised)

DefinitionThe children <5 years actually weighed during the reporting period as a percentage of the total number of expected weighings in the target population. Expected weighings are defined as one weighing per month (12 per year) for children under 1 year, one weighing every second month for 1 year old children (6 per year), and 2 weighings per year for children 2-4 years (24 weighings in total over 5 years).

Use: To evaluate the coverage or completeness of growth monitoring - weighing would normally always be combined with a brief clinical assessment, in particular for children that are underweight or not gaining weight.
