Centre for HIV/AIDS Networking (HIVAN)

Centre for HIV/AIDS Networking (HIVAN) exists to provide a meeting point between academia and society, with the aim of stimulating multi-disciplinary and cross-sectoral responses to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Although the activities of HIVAN are grounded at a practical level in this province, strong emphasis is placed on comparative work and international exchange of knowledge, experience, and expertise. The vision is one of an enabling 'hub' that links local scientists, trainers, teachers, and interventionists with one another and with others elsewhere in Africa and across the globe, for the ultimate purpose of addressing collectively the multiple problems associated with the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
