Actuarial Society of South Africa's ASSA 2000 AIDS modelThe Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) is the professional organisation for actuaries and actuarial students in South Africa. The AIDS Committee was set up in 1987 to assist the actuarial profession (and later the wider public) in estimating the impact of the AIDS epidemic in South Africa. As part of this work the Committee has produced various papers and monographs on the epidemic and constructed models (the ASSA500 model released in 1996, the ASSA600 model released in 1998 and most recently the ASSA2000 suite of models) to predict the impact of the epidemic at both the national and regional level.Read more at: http://www.assa.org.za/default.asp?id=1000000050
