RuDASA conference coming up

The Rural Doctors' Association of Southern Africa will be holding its 4th Annual Congress from 22-24 September 2000 at Queen's Boys High School, Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The theme is: the rural general practitioner - an integrator in rural health care.

The Rural Doctors' Association of Southern Africa will be holding its 4th Annual Congress from 22-24 September 2000 at Queen's Boys High School, Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The theme is: the rural general practitioner - an integrator in rural health care. 

The conference will include practical clinical updates and skills sessions and debates around policies and developments currently affecting health care in rural settings. There will be plenary sessions, workshops, lectures and presentations of papers and posters. The Academic Programme will include sessions focussing on clinical topics such as Emergency medicine, Psychiatry, Practical ophthalmology, High-risk obstetrics, Home Based Care, as well as discussions on medico-political issues and other broader issues of interest to rural doctors. 

The conference is accredited for 12 CPD points (plus 2 ethics points for those attending an ethics workshop.) 

The cost is R200 for RuDASA members and R250 for non-members. All health workers with an interest in rural health are welcome to attend.
