The Health Systems Trust (HST) is a dynamic NGO with a track record of supporting the development of a comprehensive and equitable health system in South Africa.
The Research programme is seeking to fill the position of Researcher/Senior Researcher to provide research and technical input into the organisation’s Research activities.
Duties and Responsibilities

The Researcher/Senior Researcher will:
- Collaborate and work with the research team in identification of health issues to inform the research agenda.
- Provide technical support to researchers as and when necessary.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
- A Masters degree in Public Health or related discipline. In cases of only a Bachelor’s degree, a sound understanding of the current South African Health policy and legislative context is essential.
- Between 3 – 5 years experience in health systems research and or health systems development, as well as the ability to facilitate the use of research information for decision making in the health sector.
- Experience in quantitative data analyses and report writing
- Experience in interacting with a variety of stakeholders operating at all levels of the health systems in order to determine priority research needs;
- The candidate should preferably be based in Durban
Remuneration
---------------
Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
