Resource Centre and Information Officer
HST
2004-11-02

Health Systems Trust seeks to employ a Resource Centre and Information Officer. The position will be based in Durban.

(1 year contract renewable depending on performance and/or need for position)

LOCATION : Durban

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Database administration
  • Publication and information distribution and dissemination
  • Resource Centre operation
  • Assistance with development of HST publications

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications

Diploma or equivalent in Information Management and Administration

Experience

Three (3) years experience in information/database management administration and responding to queries.

Competencies

  • Excellent computer literacy, including databases, spreadsheets, internet/email, word processing
  • Good communication skills
  • Organisational skills, with ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and execute functions with minimum supervision
  • Administration including filling and setting up monitoring systems
  • Ability to prioritise activities and meet short deadlines
  • Good command of the English language to apply it for proof reading
  • General understanding of public health information
  • Ability to promote HST publications and information dissemination

REMUNERATION :

A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line with the HSTs Job grading will be offered to the successful candidates.
