Health-e News Service seeks an experienced Radio Journalist to produce radio features on health matters for various Nguni language stations.
(1 year contract renewable depending on performance and/or need for position)
LOCATION: Preferably Johannesburg
JOB PURPOSE
Health-e News Service seeks an experienced Radio Journalist to produce radio features on health matters for various Nguni language stations.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years' experience in radio, a qualification in/ experience in journalism, a strong commitment to improving the health of South Africans, and be able to generate story ideas and work with little supervision.
Although, the candidate will primarily work in radio, s/he will from time to time be expected to work on common themes with Health-e's print journalists and may also produce radio features in English.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- researching and producing at least one radio feature a week on a topical public health issue
- writing the script, translating it into English and sound editing the material
- liaising with programme producers of various Nguni language stations to place the stories
REMUNERATION:
A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications will be offered to the successful candidate.
