We are seeking to appoint a Project Facilitator on a one year fixed-term contract
We are seeking to appoint a Project Facilitator on a one year fixed-term contract
to assist with the Governance and Equity Project and the HealthLink Cluster
with respect to :
- strengthening health systems governance at facility and District level.
- ensuring that access to health care and equity is addressed.
- strengthening the oversight role of Provincial and National Parliamentarians.
- monitoring the functioning and effectiveness of governance structures in
order to identify gaps and opportunities for strengthening governance.
LOCATION: Durban
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To initiate, co-ordinate, monitor and report on activities as outlined
in the governance and equity project.
- Document and present lessons learnt at the district, provincial and national
levels to influence policy based on local practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
- Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in health or social sciences.
- Post graduate qualification and/or work experience in Public Health would
be an advantage.
Experience
- 3-5 years working experience in public health and/or civil society and governance
structures
- Experience in working with communities and policy analysis as well as programme
management or support.
Competencies
- Technically and operationally competent.
- Good planning, monitoring and evaluation skills.
- Financial management skills.
- Proficient in facilitation, group dynamics, conflict management and managing
diversity skills.
- Knowledge of the public health system and governance issues in this arena.
- Computer literate (internet, e-mail, MsOffice programs).
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with some support.
- Ability to liaise, communicate and co-ordinate.
- Proficiency in English and Zulu.
- Valid drivers license.

REMUNERATION:
A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line
with the HST's Job Grading System will be offered to the successful candidate.
