Project Coordinator: HIV/AIDS

CMRA is currently implementing a three-year Dutch Embassy- funded project on
Decentralised Response to HIV/AIDS in South Africa .In order to support the implementation of this project we wish to make appointment on a eighteen (18) months contract, to be based in the Hibiscus Coast Local municipality, in Port Shepstone, KZN
Salary: Negotiable
Purpose of the job: To coordinate, Facilitate and Support the municipality in the implementation of the Decentralised response to HIV/AIDS in SA project.
Requirements:
- An appropriate three-year university degree or equivalent qualification in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development and Community Development studies.
- A Master&rsquos degree or being currently registered for one would serve as an advantage.
- Experience in managing HIV/AIDS projects would be an added advantage
- Applicants should preferably be residents within a reasonable proximity of the municipality.
- Experience or exposure in the project management field.
- Creative, motivated and self-driven, results-oriented and have initiative.
- A valid driver&rsquos license.
- Should have own transport
- Knowledge and working experience with diverse stakeholders on developmental issues in South Africa would be a significant advantage
- Fluent in English and preferably knowledge in one local spoken South African language.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the overall operational coordination of the project and delivery of results, in accordance with the project work plans and other project activities
- Undertake the baseline study and develop project work plan
- Responsible for the technical organization and daily management of all project activities, in order to ensure effective implementation of the project and effective use of project resources, proposing cost savings and suggesting results-based solutions to the CMRA Project Manager.
- Provide support to the expert teams and consultants involved in the project implementation
- Keep and maintain correspondence, maintain regular and close liaison with the partner institutions ,the project, timely and adequate implementation of the project activities and effective follow-up
- Regular monitoring of the project implementation for quality and timeliness and undertake necessary administrative response.
- Prepare event and activity reports, field monitoring reports and draft annual project implementation reports
- Collect, analyse and provide of project related data and information to be used for project purposes
- Build programmatic relationships with and serve as liaison to partner organizations
- Formulate best practices, based on the project results
- Submit documentation and briefs on the project implementation for internal and external use
- Prepare the presentations on results of the project, to be used at relevant events
- Participate in external and internal meetings related to the project as necessary
- Perform other activities as appropriate and requested by the Project Manager.
- Liaise with the municipalities, government departments, associations of municipalities (local and international), donors, NGOs and experts regarding project administration matters
- Accountable to the Project Manager and the Managing Director of CMRA.
