District Health Systems Development Facilitator

We are seeking to appoint a facilitator on a one year fixed-term contract to support District Health Systems Development in Gauteng, with a specific focus on strengthening District Health Planning, District Health Information System (DHIS), District Health Expenditure Reviews (DHER) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.


Location : Gauteng

Key Responsibility Areas: To support the Province in facilitating and providing technical support in the following service areas :-

  • Development of Annual District Health Plans (strategic) and operational plans.
  • Strengthening the annual and quarterly District Health Expenditure Reviews.
  • Strengthening the Quality Assurance Program using the Clinic Supervisory Tool.
  • Strengthening the District Health Information System.
  • Community Health Worker Programme.
  • Sharing the benefits and lessons learnt with districts and other programmes or provinces.
  • Liaison with Local and District Municipalities and Province.
  • Documentation of successful interventions.

REQUIREMENTS :

Qualifications: Appropriate university degree (or equivalent) in Public Health.

Experience: Five (5) years experience in the implementation of Primary Health Care (PHC) and the District Health System (DHS).

Competencies

  • A good knowledge of Health Information Systems, District Health Planning, District, Health Expenditure Reviews and Quality Assurance programs.
  • Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) skills.
  • Facilitation skills.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Computer literate (internet, e-mail, MS Office programs).
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal support.
  • Valid driver&rsquos license and willing to travel.

REMUNERATION : A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line with the HST's Job Grading System will be offered to the successful candidate.
