Junior researcher/facilitator/Intern (Women and HIV/AIDS Gauge)

JOB PURPOSE
To support the implementation of the Operational Plan for Comprehensive Care and Management of HIV and AIDS in South Africa and the National Strategic Plan for HIV/AIDS and STIs with specific attention to the feminised HIV/AIDS epidemic. To support and strengthen networks between stakeholders and develop collaborative initiatives to share information, strengthen debate and enhance the process of research, policy and practise development.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Contribute to strengthening HST's capacity to conduct research, policy and advocacy within the Women's HIV/AIDS Gauge
Networking and stakeholder engagement and participate in the moderation of the 60% elist
- Facilitate the building of consensus, networking and communication between stakeholder groups, as well as promote constructive dialogue and debate around some of the policy-related dilemmas
- Support the WHG in the process of developing HIV/AIDS treatment guidelines for women of reproductive age (TXGXWRA), through facilitation of meetings, dialogues and workshops
- Ensure project monitoring and evaluation in line with project objectives
- Support and generate documentation of the project
Support the Project Manager in designing and aligning activities of the HST with its strategic vision. Participate as part of the WHG team in contributing towards a supportive, stimulating and caring environment
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
- Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in health or social science
- Post graduate qualification in Public health or Social Sciences will be an advantage.
Experience
- At least 2 years or more Public Health working experience
- Experience in HIV and AIDS and sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Relevant health systems and policy research.
Knowledge Of:
- Policy matters related to HIV and AIDS, sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Health policies and programs HIV/AIDS networks and forums

REMUNERATION:
A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications and in line with the HST's Job Grading will be offered to the successful candidate.
