COMMUNITY RESPONSIVENESS PROGRAMME
HEALTH SYSTEMS TRAINER
The Community Responsiveness Programme is a Community Based Organisation,
which is sub-contracted by the Health Systems Trust (HST) to provide for
training public health personnel, CBOs and NGOs in sexual and reproductive
health, with specific reference to HIV/AIDS.
We are seeking to appoint a Health Systems Trainer to help implement HST’s
training strategy.
Objectives of the project
The project aims to work with local government councilors (including their
executives) and community-based organisations in promoting sexual and
reproductive health with a special focus on HIV/AIDS.
Specifically the Project is responsible for training, support and mentorship
of community based organisations in the six sites. The Project Consultant will
further orientate the public health personnel in male sexual and reproductive
health.
The following key performance areas are applicable:
- Training of public/primary health care workers
- Training of CBO’s
- Developing and preparing a training manual
- Compiling reports
- Networking with other stakeholders
- Marketing the project and related administrative duties
- Interest working in community and prepared to work in rural areas
Requirements:
Qualifications
This is a professional post. The ideal candidate should be in possession of a
Diploma/Degree or Higher qualification in either health or social work or any
relevant degree/diploma. He/she must have at least three years working
experience.
Skills
The ideal candidate must be computer literate, must possess facilitation
skills and basic management skills; i.e. planning, organising, control, etc.
Abilities
The candidate must be able to easily relate with other people, must have
ability to work independently, must be creative; initiative; prepared to learn;
to work flexible hours; to travel extensively around the country
Remuneration:
A salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications of between R
96,000 and R 112,000 is payable
The incumbent, with a valid driver’s licence and preferably own car,
should be prepared to travel extensively.
This is a one-year contract position; its renewal will be informed by the
availability of additional funding and the need for the position.
