We are seeking to appoint an I T professional for technical support and Internet Development for the Health Systems Trust.

The incumbent will be based in Durban.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop the programs, services and security required for all of HST's web sites (NT and Linux platforms)
  • Manage all technical-related Web activities
  • Maintain and develop server related functions especially on the Linux servers including mail, DHCP, security (in consultation with the IT Manager)
  • Ad hoc training of HST I T staff on areas of expertise

Requirements:

  • An appropriate IT or computer degree or national diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years relevant experience; including:
    • Linux / FreeBSD server administration
    • Apache web server administration
    • PHP
    • DHCP
    • Firewall administration (IPFW)
    • SAMBA
    • Database development and administration
    • Mail server administration
    • Experience in the following fields would be preferred:
    • Mailman / List server administration
    • Postfix
    • Squid
    • LDAP
    • MySQL

Remuneration:

A salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience is available.
