This report is especially meant for district, regional and programme managers because it provides
health and welfare information for each of the provinces 18 districts. Regional managers can
easily collate the information relating to their region. Information was mainly obtained from
ReHMIS, a health management information system operated by the Directorate of District
Development, Policy, Planning and Information. Data was collected under the supervision of the
directorate, from all health facilities in the North West. Data that was collected mainly relates to
the types of facilities, the resources they have, the services they render and output (that is, the
amount of service rendered). |

Health personnel in individual facilities will enjoy reading this report as it provides information on
their particular district and how it differs from other districts in the province.
Since standardised National definitions were used, this information is comparable across districts
and provinces in South Africa. |
