An infectious disease epidemic requires an immediate and effective response. This manual provides keys to effective epidemic response |
| More Details |
You should:
- Familiarise yourself with the case definitions in The Outbreak Manual. The infectious diseases included are those which, when they occur more frequently than usual, pose a serious threat to the public's health.
- Be alert and look for cases meeting the case definition.
- Immediately respond as indicated. An immediate correct response will limit the extent of an epidemic.
- Always remember that the provincial team (Mpumalanga Epidemic Task Force) is there to provide you with epidemiological, micro-biological and logistical support during outbreaks.
