Phase One is described in this report.
Phase Two will be a study involving doctors with rural experience, academics, and policy makers with the aim of establishing the spectrum and levels of skills required by rural doctors, and will hopefully be undertaken by the Rural Doctors Association of Southern Africa (RUDASA).
Phase Three will aim at establishing training programmes to achieve the aims of phase two.
