INDEPTH: Network of Demographic Surveillance Sites

INDEPTH is an International Network of field sites with continuous Demographic Evaluation of Populations and Their Health in developing countries. At a meeting in Dar es Salaam in 1998, members of field sites based on demographic and health surveillance convened to establish the INDEPTH network. Seventeen field sites, drawn from 13 countries in Africa and Asia, participated in this constituting meeting.
INRUD: International Network for Rational Use of Drugs

INRUD was developed to help design, test, and disseminate strategies to improve how drugs are prescribed, dispensed, and used, especially in resource-poor countries. Its website has a comprehensive overview of INRUD's activities and a pdf version of its newsletter.
Integrated Regional Information Networks - IRIN

IRIN is a non-commercial venture, but totally dependent on financing from donor governments and/or institutions. Governments, aid workers, disaster specialists, members of the public receive regular reports on a wide array of political, economic and social issues affecting humanitarian efforts. Though essentially serving these groups, IRIN takes an increasingly broad view of what comprises humanitarianism and seeks to cover the full range of humanitarian issues from the abuse of human rights to the environment.

It was constituted by a group of people with a concern for the future and destiny of young people and children threatened by HIV /AIDS, especially in the Durban area. The organisation has a Christian base, and is rooted in Glenridge Church International, a Durban local church. iThemba Lethu seeks to impact children and young people in Durban whose future is being threatened by HIV /AIDS. Our vision is to see these children and young people regain a meaningful destiny.
