67 minutes of Ubuntu from the HST staff

Health System Trust employees joined the global community yesterday in celebrating the 95th birthday of former South African President, Nelson Mandela, by doing their bit for charity.

Colleagues from the Durban office made hygiene packs and goodie bags for the Siyathuthuka B Creche in Mariannhill. The three Creche staff members and the 40 children in their care were so thrilled with their gifts that they burst into song.

In Midrand, the HST staff served lunch and other treats to the children of an orphanage in Alexandra.

HST staff in Cape Town spent the morning packing food hampers.  Apart from buying the food for the hampers, which was part of the FoodBank South Africa initiative, they also focused on team-building and had special T-shirts printed for the event.

Many HST colleagues were so motivated by their Mandela Day outreach experiences, that want to initiate similar activities on a regular basis, beyond the annual  67 minutes!
