Health Systems Trust is pleased to announced the arrival of our a new CEO, Dr Themba Lebogang Moeti.
Dr Moeti, who has impeccable credentials in the field of public health, commenced his role at HST on 5 August 2013.
He has previously held several key management positions, most notably in the Government of Botswana.
Dr Moeti qualified as a medical practitioner at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, University of London, in 1986, and was awarded a Master of Science Degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1997.
In 2001, Dr Moeti was appointed as the Deputy Director for Health Services in the Botswana Ministry of Health, where he played a prominent role in strategy, policy development and the oversight of technical departments.
He also served as Managing Director of the African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships (ACHAP). In this portfolio, Dr Moeti managed and provided technical and strategic oversight to the main public-private partnership between the Botswana Government, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Merck Company Foundation.
Dr Moeti takes the HST reins from acting CEO, Ronel Visser, who also heads HST’s Health Systems Strengthening Unit.
