Launch of the District Health Barometer 2012/13

Health Systems Trust is proud to announce that the latest edition of the District Health Barometer (DHB) will be launched on Monday 28th October.DHB 2012-13 front cover.jpg

Health Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, will discuss some of the key findings in the 2012/13 DHB at the event in Pretoria.

The eighth edition of the DHB presents data on a total of 42 financial and health indicators. The latest report paints a mixed picture, showing significant gains in some areas, and where further attention is needed in others.

This year the official launch of the DHB will be preceded by a workshop for district managers, who use the information contained in the publication to guide the development of their District Health Plans.

The workshop provides the district managers with a unique opportunity to interrogate and interpret the information contained in the publication. HST’s CEO, Dr Themba Moeti, said the organisation was proud to be part of such an important process.HST-logo_Vector_2013_weblogo.png

The DHB is an important planning and management resource for health service providers, managers, researchers and policy-makers in the country.  The DHB also serves as a tool with which managers in the health sector can monitor and evaluate not only trends in health status and service delivery, but also the underlying quality of routinely collected health information in South Africa.
